Dr. Melissa Miranda
Licensed Psychologist
Hi there! I’m glad you’re here. I’m a psychologist with a deep passion for treating anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma, grief, disordered eating and body image concerns. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Yale Mental Health and Counseling Center, where I received advanced training in ERP for OCD and worked extensively with clients navigating restriction, binge eating, body image challenges and life transitions.
I incorporate training in feminist, multicultural and strengths-based approaches to help clients explore identity, power, and resilience within their cultural and social contexts. My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can better understand the patterns shaping your experiences and develop tools that help you feel more grounded and empowered in daily life. Whether through diagnostic evaluation or ongoing therapy, I aim to help you feel understood, supported, and equipped to make meaningful, sustainable change.
Dr. Miranda is currently accepting new clients.

About Dr. Miranda
(She/her)
best part about my job:
The best part of being a psychologist is that it’s science, art, and humanity all in one. I love tailoring and individualizing each session, weaving in my clients’ interests, values, strengths, and the skills they feel ready for. Therapy is unique in that way; no two people need the same thing, and it’s an honor to create something deeply personal with every client. I value speaking truth in the room and welcoming the thoughts and fears that often go unsaid. Perception is reality, and I love helping clients make sense of theirs.
My most meaningful moments are when clients begin to see their own growth, recognize their identities, complexity, and humanity, and realize they are allowed to hold many parts of themselves at once.
The best part of working at Tampa Pediatric Psychology is being surrounded by like-minded clinicians who care deeply about the people we serve and our field. It’s energizing to be part of a team that is collaborative, thoughtful and constantly elevating the quality of care we provide.
